stop using Pinterest to search for painting inspiration
Don’t get me wrong, pinterest is great for finding outfit inspiration, organization ideas, photography hacks, or just simply aesthetic photos. But pinterest is not the greatest option if you want to use it as a painting reference.
Anyone can pin a post and put in on Pinterest, even a regular reader who finds a picture/painting looks good, without attaching the original owner of that specific pic/painting. This, might cause difficulties in identifying the true creator if you’re looking to replicate a painting or draw inspiration for it.
Remember, give credits where it’s due.
Chances are, if you’re taking inspiration from other artists, 9/10 times they’d be happy to know that their work become the inspiration of someone else’s work.
Why?
So where should artists go to look for inspiration?
I’m not saying you shouldn’t use pinterest for painting inspo, it’s just a bit trickier to source back to the original artist. Feel free to use whatever you feel more convenient.
What app do you use the most? Instagram? pinterest? youtube? unsplash? or you just go outside and stare at grass?
