Here's how you can DIY your own miniature bookshelf

Just use instagram

I’ve seen so many people buy this type of so called “anxiety bookshelf”, but what I found on Amazon was mostly random books that you can’t customize, but I REALLY dig the idea, though im not sure about the anxiety part, if someone buys it and expect it to magically cure their anxiety, i don’t think this is it. In this tutorial I will guide you on how you can customize your own miniature books (the bookshelf is excluded, that’s beyond what I needed and outside my capabilities)

Tools and Materials that you need:

  • Software like Figma or Canva (whichever easier for you)
  • 2mm cardstock (I used the base of a spongecake that would’ve been thrown out otherwise)
  • ruler
  • box cutter
  • paper glue
  • printer & sticker paper
  • time & patience because this project will take at least a total of 3 hours of your time depending on how many miniature books you created Google

Step by step:

1. This is the most tideous part, you have to manually search every book you want one by one, go over goodreads and right click the cover and choose copy image, then paste it on your software of choice.

2. measure your cardstock and cut them up

3. After that, you need to manually cut the individual stickers and assemble them

If I make them again for the first time, here’s what I’d do:

  1. use new box cutter blade, slightly dull blade will pull the sticker papers and make cutting the cardboard harder than necessary.
  2. measure everything precisely
  3. be patient, this project isn’t a one-afternoon thing
